Derbyshire Slang

Just thinking about our Debrys⁶hire slang. It's surprising how people from villages close by speak differently at times.
Years ago I remember  shot was a shirt.
Shirting was shouting and yes we have the Derbyshire ducks.

Marra is Scottish or a very old word of England I believe.
Means friend or colleague.
It's not Derbyshire slang  as I know of.

Out having lunch, Smithy Pond. It was the nearest pub where I could get daughter out of the car safely because of ice.
