It is alleged:-
One member of Parliament who doesn't live a million miles away from Derbyshire gets {as their M.P.'s salary} £86:584 annually, they are also on their local County council which rakes in another £15:894 p/a. Plus as they have "special responsibilities" on the council that entitles them to a further {allowance} of £37:275 p/a making their pockets bulge to the tune of £139 and a half grand per year, that doesn't include the ten grand a year + they, as M.P.'s all get for expenses.
Reminds me of that saying....."Rich men go into politics, others go into politics to get rich".
I honestly think that the amount of money that filters through the houses of Parliament each year would dwarf the cost of HS2!!!!!
