We've had a couple - well actually three up to now. The first one is an odd one you will say but -
I had been ill with a rotten virus then hubby got it and it was lingering - so -
I looked at a break in Liverpool, they wanted an arm and a leg as it was the Eurovision song contest weekend apparently plus the trains were also on strike.
I ditched that idea and booked into the Math Hotel in Matlock
Off we toddled, had a room in the annex with a balcony, spent the 1st morning in Cromford enjoyed a late lunch then retired back to the hotel to sleep and read. The second morning we wandered round Matlock Bath not having been for several years - had a late lunch then retired back to the hotel to read and sleep.
Boring you might think but it was a lovely rest and hubby was so much better when we returned home. Had we stayed at home we would have been finding jobs to do.
Skegvegas - We went with daughter, her boyfriend and a young lady i support. Yes it was a working week and I'm always ready for a rest after this. we use a specialist wheelchair friendly bungalow in Ingoldmells which we've booked for years as it suits our needs very well. It got a bit too hot on one of the days but hey ho I'm not grumbling about that!!
Liverpool - we returned home last night. It was a last minute decision. Stayed in the Holiday inn Express on Albert Docks. No complaints with the hotel. It had the river Mersey on one side and the Albert Docks shops, cafe's, bars on the other. Liverpool has been one of our 'lets nip off for a few days' places. We've never been on the Mersey so hopped on one of the boats during this stay to view the scenery from the Mersey. Daughters been pecking my head to go away for a day or two on her birthday so I checked their accessible room out got an interconnecting room and booked it whilst we were there. It won't be on her birthday though but later in the year. I'm sure she'll enjoy it though
