Sniffles & Sneezes
« on: January 29, 2021, 10:58:42 PM »
Sorry - I've been a bit quiet lately, my Wife likes that until it comes to the contents of my wallet!
Anyway how many have you have had a cold or a cough since the Covid outbreak - just the normal cold or cough?
Our last infections (entire family) was Dec - Jan 2019.
Have we eradicated the common cold due to Covid?

There was a doctor on the radio a while ago saying that because so many people were washing and sanitizing their hands, covering faces and keeping apart, it was greatly reducing the number of cases of common cold and normal seasonal flu.

It's not just Covid that transmits by droplet or contact infection.

Maybe the one good thing to come from all of this?

My coughs etc are generally caused by my Asthma, or allergies of which I have many.
I haven't had much problem this year up to now as I am not really going outside and that is another allergy I have - Cold weather triggers it.

I watch a doctor on YouTube (John Campbell) who does daily updates. He says that covid has meant that there are far fewer cases of seasonal flu about, due to social distancing/hand sanitizing/mask wearing.

I read the news and then listen to him while he tells it how it is without any spin or political bias. He is very interesting and explains (most) things so that we mere mortals can understand.

He's in his 60s and has worked not only as a doctor, but has also travelled the world teaching in different countries. His mantra is "follow the evidence".
