child proof containers

Over weekend i bought two bottles of bleach from asda and on trying to open one of the bottles i realised my grip was not what it was and the top was unmovable, so i handed the bottle to my son only for him to fail as well, in the end  to get into this bottle it required judicious use of a stanley knife and a pair of pliers to get it open.
I know why these lids are fitted however i do think that manufacturers should provide bottles or cartons which are able to be opened without the need for tools and the associated risks inherant in their deployment.
this was not an isolated incident and as i have got older i have had dificulties with these so called child proof locks on a regular basis.

 :)) :)) :)) Sorry I just had to laugh at your post as this is just like me these days. Only last week I advised my hubby that he couldn't die before me as I wouldn't be able to open the bottle of wine  :)) :))

Why do they always refer to them as "Child proof locks" when it's the elderly that have the problems?

Can't answer that but my fingers are getting really bad and the strength in my hands and arms aint wot it used to be  ::)

Yes I would find a way to open my wine, even if it meant going out onto the street and accosting some poor unsuspecting fella  :))
