V E Day
« on: May 10, 2020, 05:29:46 PM »
Did anyone else have a garden party to celebrate V E day?
We did, and the weather was just right wasn't it.

We decorated the outside with bunting which I had made from the MacIntyre centre in Holmewood I like to support local rather than internet giants.
Many homes in our village also decorated their homes and gardens and like us had a lovely day.

We ate afternoon tea with goodies delivered by the Victoria Bakery in Chesterfield, and toasted all those brave people of our Wars.
!940's music and hubby dusted down his drum kit and after 30 years absence from playing he drummed along to some of the tunes, mind you we battled with an aging CD / tape recorder player which finally gave up on us but not before we had enjoyed our afternoon.

We currently have another war to fight - the Covid 19 but we will win this one as well.
