Do we need Phone Booths on our Streets?
« on: November 07, 2016, 12:22:46 PM »
I have received this email from a trusted friend/ Councillor.
If it affects our areas it will possibly affect yours.
Do we need them?

IMPORTANT CONSULTATION - please share

As most people are using mobile phones these days BT have decided to dramatically reduce the number of phone boxes - 45 of which are in North East Derbyshire.

A number of these are within Tupton and Wingerworth:
Queen Victoria Road (By the junction with Derby Road)
Junction of Brassington Lane and Derby Road
Adlington Avenue, Wingerworth
Parkland Drive, Wingerworth
Junction of Langer Lane and Rectory Drive, Wingerworth

In fairness, most of these have very little usage; but a couple of them are used more regularly.

NEDDC is putting together a response for the whole District; so if anyone has any comments on the proposal please email them to developmentcontrol@ne-derbyshire.gov.uk by Friday 16 December as they are trying to collate them centrally so everyone's concerns/comments are taken into account.
