Suppressed HS2 report reveals serious cost concerns

High-speed rail project may be swept up in railway crisis as 2012 review released under FOI shows officials believed it was unaffordable.

The crisis in Britain’s railways is threatening to engulf HS2, with the government being forced to release a damning report showing the Department for Transport believed the high-speed project was unaffordable given its other spending commitments.

That the people in charge are thick and do not know how to prioritise the needs of the people to whom it is responsible.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Plus for the last lord knows how many years the tory Gov have been throwing millions of pounds around, probably to their preferred businesses, now they are thinking of ending it. Pockets must be full, though I thought they had already loaded up with the farced sale of the PO !!

I totally agree, but that isn't unique to tories, it is every political party.  All candidates are in it for themselves!!!

The tories just seem to do it with such a nonchalant flair and on such a huge scale  ::)

Take Toby Perkins as an example, he exudes such a flair and makes his living from politics.  Is this what you expect from the working class?

Have you ever met Toby Perkins? Give us an example.

No and no.

Can you prove that the people that are in charge are thick?

No, but its more polite to say that they are thick than to say they are a bunch of opportunistic money grabbers.

I'd rather call a spade a spade, but if you want to bend the truth, go for it.

Quoting Private Eye means nothing to me.  I'd much rather hear you personal plight regarding your Father in law, although i still find it hard to believe he had no help?

fuppet it was a battle for my two brothers and I to get even the minimal amount of help with my mum. We didn't want funding for full care, just a little help to help us three support her whilst we were working. Other than that it meant one of us giving up work and I had already dropped to part time because of the situation.
Being out of work isn't our families culture.
More recently the hospital DR was going to send my terminally ill relative home for her husband  ( in his 80's ) to care for her.
Again it was a battle!
It shouldn't be like this.
