The Labour Party
« on: October 09, 2014, 01:44:34 PM »
Just read this and I think it sums up the state of play for the current version of the Labour Party.

"The Labour Party has become nothing more than an empty power structure, so far divorced from its founding principles that it exists only to seek and maintain political power. The party leadership isn't driven by any objective other than the pursuit of power for its own sake.

The Labour party strategists imagine that the only path to achieve this political power is through eschewing any kind of radical, progressive or left-wing policies, in favour of promoting a Thatcherism-lite agenda designed to appease the right-wing press, and by conning the public into voting for them with a few lame bits of pseudo-socialist window dressing."
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Sums the Labour Party up since Teflon added the 'new' tag. A left wing socialist party seeking to implement policies in favour of the workers is unelectable and has been so since the early 80's

Since the Unions "lost" their influence - or had it taken away, the working person is no longer represented properly. The Millibands & Camerons come from wealthy backgrounds & have a woeful capacity to understand what everyday life is for lower working class families.

We are taxed to the hilt one way or another, utilities/bills have constantly risen over & above pay rewards. The worker has took the hit as usual. I have no confidence in any of the major electable parties - & Ukip, although sweep to new highs, yet to come up with a proper mandate, although many M.P.'s & council officials are joining them.
There's no smoke without fire - is UKIP the way forward?
Do we leave the overpowering EU, or threaten to, to renegotiate our commitment to it, in order to re-organise it. Let's face it, its long overdue!!
Personally, I think Farage has the "major parties" pooing their pants, because he's saying stuff people want to hear.
Delivery is different though - we will have to wait & see.
You only have one life, so live it & love it, & more importantly LOVE YOURSELF!

Iv long given up on Labour nor voted for them they seem to have so far off what Labour should be about. Though Liberal Democrats and Tories too have gone the same way its about money not about the people who they are supposed to represent. We really do need a party who puts the people first and has strong leadership skills though the current state of this country it would a real challenge to sort this mess out though I think it can be done and it would involve some really big desions I don't think Milliband,Clegg or Cameron are capable of this to be honest one they are too young we need a person who has a lot of experience in politics and a wise head on them. UKIP has an older leader but there ideas might not work and leaving the EU might backfire so this leaves a big question in who do we vote for in 2015?
