I'd emailed Bolsover Town Council about the spelling mistake on the Cenotaph in Bolsover Market Place.
It should read KESTLE S. I merely asked if the extra S could be painted out.
I said I could do it myself, but didn't want to get arrested for desecration of the Cenotaph if I was seen LOL 


Had a reply.

Thank you for your email.
I have discussed this with the Chair and Vice Chair of the Council this morning and visited the cenotaph to have a look.
We have agreed that we will arrange for the extra S to be painted over to correct the original error.
The Council is looking at obtaining some funding to renovate and clean the cenotaph area. 
If we are successful with this, I will enquire to find out if there are alternative solutions during any renovation work..
