Blimey how to segregate the classes - I wonder if the same rules would still apply today?

It made sense up to a point but I offered to take my overalls off and still I wasn't allowed in so it was definitely either segregation or snobbery.

Possibly a bit of both Bill, I doubt many would follow that rule these days when things seem more relaxed about issues such as this.
