Factory Girls at Bolsover.
« on: August 18, 2013, 12:38:55 PM »
Came across these photographs on E-Bay.

It shows some girls from the hosiery factory at Bolsover.

Can anyone put names to faces?

Neil.

It's enough to make you wonder sometimes if indeed you are on the right planet.

I don't recognise anyone Old Miner and don't know of a hosiery factory but will ask my aunt who is now in her 80's.
Have to admit there is one who looks very much like one of my other aunts who has deceased years ago.

The factory is now demolished and was near to the cemetery on Oxcroft Lane. It was at different times Pru. Smiths or Meridian and made garments for Marks and Spencers and Fred Perry shirts. It closed in the 1990's some time.

I think my sister in law worked there but many years later a bus used to pick them up , not sure but I think it was Marks and Spencers stuff.
