Something gone off in Chesterfield
« on: July 19, 2013, 04:08:35 PM »
I was walking up past the street where the ABC cinema used to be (don't know street name) heading up towards Royal Bank of Scotland.

Met someone I know who told me they thought they had just seen an (attempted) or robbery. When a car screetched up to the jewellers just round from RBS someone dashed in and dashed back out jumpped in the car and sped off.

Police man talking to someone on the pavement and a man sat on a chair outside with someone comforting him he looked very shook up poor chap

Police are appealing for information after a jewellers shop in Chesterfield was targeted by robbers.

Two men ran into E Hagg and Sons jewellers, in Cavendish Street, Chesterfield, at about 3pm on Friday, July 19th, while a third man waited in a car outside.

A staff member was sprayed with a chemical substance by one of the offenders but managed to confront the robbers, who made off with some jewellery.

The two men then ran back to the car - a silver Audi A6 - and were driven away along Cavendish Street towards the 'Donut' roundabout at Saltergate.

The vehicle went into the one way bus lane and then the wrong way around the roundabout. It was later found abandoned in Infirmary Road, Chesterfield.

Prior to the robbery, the Audi was driven the wrong way down Broad Pavement and then the wrong way into the Donut car park.

Police want to speak to anyone who saw the Audi or its occupants before the robbery, during the getaway or after the car had been abandoned, in the Infirmary Road area.

I'm confusing myself here. Emmz, do you mean the bloke was physically thumped/hit.
Or did you mean the shop had been robbed/hit before, which is how I read it
