Cats will always get comfy. They just don't tell us 'where'  :))

I have started tidying up the garden ready for the winter setting in.
Cut some bushes back at the top of the garden as they were growing out of hand and didn't flower too well this year.

The rubbish has filled the green bin.

A bit of weeding to do tomorrow and a couple of bushes to re-pot into larger pots.

Need some new hedge cutters - are the sales on yet?

Very nice Simon. :)
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Yep, 10 goldfish, 4 decent sized and 6 tiddlers.  Want Koi but pond isnt big enough, plus the soil here is mainly clay so would take me ages to dig something suitable.

One of my brothers has built his 'up' rather than 'down' if that makes sense, so when i go I can lean on the wall and look down inti it. He had some huge fish in there. have no idea how deep it is.

I like the look of Simon's pond.  That's well impressive!

On a different note, I hope someone can help with a little dilemma here.  I bought a hydrangea last year and put it in a large(ish) pot in the proper ericaceous compost.  It did incredibly well and flowered for months.  I had great hopes for it this year but sadly it's not flowered at all.  It's grown really healthily and the leaves look nice and lush - but why no flowers?

Welcome to the club! My long established hydrangea has had just a single flower on it this year (it's planted directly into the garden), so I imagine it must be something to do with the weather this year.

I have a young Hydrangea bought for me last year and have just potted it into a larger pot.

I took it inside for the winter as I remember we had one in our garden as a child and dad always used to cover it over for the winter - he said they didn't like frost?

Thanks Alsatian and Pam.  Let's hope its a combination of things then, i.e. weather and young plant.

Annoyingly, my friend has had one in her garden for donkey's years and it had more flowers on this year than ever!  I never knew hydrangea's were so contrary  >:(

Possibly pot bound unless you pruned it last year ?
