Gardens/Birds 2013
« on: May 04, 2013, 07:50:50 PM »
Has spring sprung do you think.
We have started in the garden - the lawns have had 2/3 cuts though, but I have been weeding and really surprised how hard the soil it and so dry. Can't believe it after all the snow and rain this winter.
Have put in some bedding plants although not finished yet.
Looking as if the two Broom bushes at the top of the garden are going to give a good display - photo's when things start to bloom.
Off to daughters tomorrow to cut her lawn and put a few bedding plants in tubs.
Is this sunshine bringing other out as well.  8)

I bought  a wisteria and three bedding plants today - not much, but a good start. :)

The bamboo I planted last summer has survived the winter and is beginning to spread a little. Gave it some fertiliser last weekend to help it on it's way.

Biggest problem I've got is the rabbit who thinks a wander around the back yard is really an "eat all you can for free" situation.

I'll be eating him if he carries on like that.  >:(
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Been out with the trowell digging the dandelions out of the lawn this afternoon.
Yes the lawn looks like Goose Green, but then again it did before  :D

BTW OC, nice thought combining the two threads this year  ;)

I've literally dug the batsards out of one side of our garden.
Our_Lass has nailed the other side with a high strength weed killer.
Let's see who wins  ;)

I have been out and started levelling the flower bed, then it will be time to mow the lawn and buy some flowers/bulbs to plant.. Clematis is budding and growing some more so will take a pic once it starts to flower.. honeysuckle has also survived the winter and is growing some... :)

Back garden today. That's Our_Lass near the veg plot  ;D

Front garden, just spent an hour having a tidy..

Going to get something colourful for the two planters tomorrow. That's it, very low maintenance.

No time for gardening today. Had to work this morning and went for a walk along Froggat Edge this afternoon. Still managed to cut the hedge when I got home - top is as flat as a billiard table (ish).
