Cyprus

What do others think of this situation?
I would be incensed if I had 100000 euros banked and 40% was taken from me  >:(
This all seems very unjust why should people have to pay for others mistakes?
This could bankrupt some who have businesses.
Russians seem to be hard hit by all accounts - wonder if we will have an influx of banking from them.

Would appear the argument is that before the tax payers of Germany and France should foot the bill for the mismanagement of banks in Cyprus the people who have money invested in them should pay first. It's an interesting concept.

Seems the rich are paying dearly for it as well, although some of the richer and more canny investors have already been quietly moving their money as they were 'expecting it' - did someone tip them a wink?
With the banks closed until thursday I just think it's a terrible situation when this can happen - I really can't see they have a right to do this - is it illegal do you think?
