Nope, not heard that before.

@ Alsatian -Didn't your daughter used to have that pub?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

There's no planning application for signage changes or such for the past year on the CBC's website.
Perhaps it is just a rumour, or an application hasn't been put forward yet.

Yes she did, if the new owners are prepared to spend some money on much needed refurbishment it could do ok, although there's some competition in the near vicinity (Spa Lane Vaults/Barracuda/Chandlers/Mucky Duck).

Not really competition for a restaurant??

Not directly, maybe - but, in times of economic hardship they provide a cheaper alternative.

I guess you just have to pitch it so you aren't trying to compete with the £3-99 for a burger and a pint type offers :)

You can call in all of them there for a beer. You don't have to eat.
I presume a restaurant is a place you wouldn't call in just for a beer if you weren't going there for the food.
Might be confusing due to being located in an ex public house.

I'll reserve judgement until I've had a meal there. :)

Mmm, steak - lovely!

I reckon there are enough ex pubs that are now restaurants in Chesterfield to avoid confusion :)

Not much profit in good British steak though, hope they don't get greedy and buy South American rubbish, look at the mess the soilville steakhouse has become.
