Not my petition and i realise the management buyout is a non - starter, I don't see it as any more than making a point that Chesterfield people want their Co-op

It's like people banging on about Sherwood Lodge in Bolsover and the new Morrisons.
When I went and took those photo's Monday, I didn't see one other person in there.
There's nothing there. It's not a 'Park' as quoted in a letter from an air head in this weeks DT.
It's a piece of grass at the back of the council offices.
Get a life people. If the Coops going, it's going. Petition all you want.

Talk about flog a dead horse  :-X

Yes, people are idiots. The shop's got 'SALE' plastered in all the windows.

A couple I took home today were happy cos they got 2 pair of gloves for £19.99  :-?

Is that a lot for two pairs of gloves? I paid around £15 a few years back for one pair.

Its no good going to the Co-op for cheap and cheerful. The bit that worries me is what they charge pricewise against the same item in Currys.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Nope - they are just plain black leather with press-studs at the wrist. Turns out, my missus reminds me, it was around 10 years ago from Cole Brothers/John Lewis in Sheff.

Hasn't it already been said. Who runs a company that's not making a profit.
I think it's just Toby getting his face in the DT appearing to try and do something. IMHO  ;)

My son works for the coop as a manager, and with little things he says to me (me reading between the lines ) i think as a company they are still a strong contender in todays high street market, and seem to be moving forward with the times be it  later than some high street stores and i believe they have found a shortfall in the market and have started to fill this gap,but like all big companies they have to get rid  non profit making parts of the company to survive.

They've been trying to sell for the last 2 years apparently. DT

So it's not a rash decision to close.  :(
