We opted for an impromptu wee day trip to Edinburgh to see the amazing talent on display at the Fringe festival.  It was a beautiful sunny day and there was really far too much to take in.  Spray can artists, street dancers, unicyclists, puppeteers, magicians, jugglers, orchestras, choirs ... and even a solo belly dancer.  We really enjoyed the experience.

My mum's been up there for the last few days. Now in the Orkney's visiting family,
really ought to text her and see how she's getting on.

Wonder what the mobile coverage is like up there  :)

*** AUGUST BANK HOLIDAY SUNDAY ***

It's BACK! - how much fun can you have in a pub car park?
EIGHT hours of live music, that's how much!

Brampton's biggest, smallest, music festival returns with a stellar line-up of the best bands in Chesterfield, it's all killer, no filler so make sure you turn up early to bag a great spot!

We round off the day with a full set from Sheffield's SKA sensation:

* JUNGLE LION - A massive kickass SKA band with 12 members that'll knock your socks off, playing well known classics as well as heavily customised obscurities - peace, unity, good vibes and skankin' basically.

But before that we have a fantastic line-up of bands that have all played in The Grouse over the last 6 months... some legendary Grouse bands and a sprinkling of the new generation and the future looks good!

* ORIGIN - A fantastic Indie Rock band covering bands such as Muse, Foo Fighters, Kings of Leon, Red hot chilli peppers, Kasabian etc

* TENNASON are a 3-piece band from Nottinghamshire. Their music has been described by many music journalists as moody indie rock and has been compared to the likes of The Cure, Roxy Music and U2.

* PINT OF MILD - Chesterfield's finest 3-piece punk pop party band! - Guaranteed to get you dancing!

* DFACTO are a four piece covers band. They play a large range of music including Blondie, Adele, Feeder, Greenday, Cranberries, Tina Turner and the Killers

* THE NUTTY BOYS - Mod/Ska/Scooter tunes - it'd be mod-ness to miss it!

* CRACKIN' RIGHT FOOT are a Chesterfield-based Indie/Rock covers band having a crackin' go at everything from the 60's to present day.

* POOR GRAMMAR - Rock/ pop covers band covering any thing from Bowie to Foo Fighters, Alice Cooper and many many more!!

* SKM (Some Kinda Mushroom) are a no-holds-barred, in your face. rock, pop, power trio! SKM produce a unique blend of driving, anthemic, stadium rock with pop-like hooks and monster riffs! Played with professionalism and enthusiasm SKM stop at nothing to give you something you've never quite seen or heard before!
