ViTAL Enterprises
« on: May 28, 2012, 09:41:06 PM »
ViTAL (Volunteers In Training And Leadership) is a charity that is trying to help disadvantaged kids and vulnerable adults in order to build emotional resilience and practiice life skills.
I am involved in this scheme and now want to invite you.
If you can volunteer your time, experience and knowledge, I need you.
I am not asking for a full time commitment, 1 hour a week will do.
Over the years I have seen what members of this Forum (and the old one) can offer, I am asking that you offer this experience to kids that need it.  Wether it is IT skills or Business Skills , maybe Art or Gardening, whatever, I need you.
I am determined that this scheme will work, I just need help.
Please, please contact
dez.w@youngpotential.org.uk
or send me a pm.
Thanks.

How much does it pay?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Not really a good example should any children read the forum, is it?

Ban the adults. Let the children stay!

Do what you like as long as four-letter words aren't used.

Why not?

The registration agreement says no one under 16 allowed - we are all grown up(ish) - we've just come from another forum where rules and regulations were ruining the experience, that's why this forum exists.

I, for one, don't believe in censorship.

Opinions?

Agree especially given previous experience(s). If kids were allowed on their language would more than likely be a lot worse!  Yp

Swearing on here - doesn't really bother me although I have said to Pete --- language Timothy in jest.
I'm not sure how you stop under 16's coming on here though if they wished???? anyone????
As Alsatian said the kids use this language all the time these days and  F--- is now in the disctionary (or some has told me it is?)

Mycul I have a wealth of experience with children and young people who have been disadvantaged and vulnerable, unfortunately at this moment in time most of my time is taken up looking after my elderly mum which is why I am semi retired. Should this alter in the near future I will contact you to see if I can help in anyway if I am able.
Who pays for the CRB? I have a current one but I believe each organisation has to have their own done - unless they have changed the rules again that is.
Well done for getting stuck into this project it is much needed!!!    :)

TBH Pam, this forum was set up for people to speak freely about any subject without censorship and it seems to be working rather well. I don't think introducing any censorship would improve it.

@Mycul - all joking aside, I'm up for it, just let me know what you want.

@Big Dave - don't go, you are a good member and I for one, value your input - and, quite frankly, I don't think any young person would even want to post , let alone be offended. It's important to me and the guys that set this forum up, that anyone can say what they like. We've been going 6 months and have not had to snip anyone - and the only person banned here was a certain person who came on here aggressively and started to cause trouble on purpose.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.
