I always applaud those who have unshackled themselves from the "dreaded weed" the longer you have been a smoker the harder it must be. I didn't start smoking till I was 19, baring in mind in those days everyone seemed to smoke, even the adverts hinted you weren't a man if you didn't smoke. I was on about a 12/16 per day, not excessive by others standards and I had quit by the time I was 24 I believe the average to be around 20 per day. I once worked alongside a chain smoker who's minimum intake was 140 p/day!

I stopped smoking at my wife's insistence as she was expecting our second child and so I made the effort and stopped for the kids sake, and I haven't touched one since. The very last cigarette I had was the day she was born, last month she celebrated her 44th birthday.

I started smoking (slyly!) when I was still at school (around 13/14yrs) and stopped when I started going out with my now wife (Sept 1976). We've been married 43 years and until relatively recently still had occasional hankering for a fag.

Well done Fly!

I tried them when I was about 14years old. My friend and I bought a packet between us.
Neither of us rated them and threw them away. Never had another

10 year next week and I’ve still not had a fag.
After what’s happened in my life the last 4 years,
I don’t know how I managed it  :-X

I'm assuming you didn't succumb to vaping then Fly?

I used a vape for probably less than a year but weaned myself off it.
It did help at the time (y)
