Hedgehogs
« on: February 26, 2021, 02:37:32 PM »
The little spikes are out ( well some ). I have one coming each night to feed.

This is Meadow, I took her in after a phone call. Unfortunately Meadow had been seen around for several days during the day - no one helped her.
Hedgehogs rarely go out during the day, they are asleep.
If you see a hedgehog out during the daytime please help it by taking it in and contacting a rescue centre or me.

Meadow died the day after I took her, she died during the night.

Any hedgehogs I take always go to be checked by the vet and treated if needed and  they can be saved. I'll then care for it until they are ready to be released back into the wild.
I have two Hedgehogs in hibernation they are in hutches outside, transferred from the incubators they needed to be in when I first got them, both were ill when I took them in. They will be moved to ground pens prior to releasing them in spring

Please don't ignore a hedgehog out in the day time!
