Camera Date problem?

Awhile ago I posted some photo's and Fly drew my attention to the date.
It was a current photo I had posted and hadn't noticed the date change as I was sure I had at some time put the date in.

I updated the date in the camera - and today have uploaded a photo to find the old date back on????

Any ideas?

Have you had to change the batteries or recharge the camera.
Some electric items forget settings like the date when the battery runs out/low.
