TalkTalk broadband issues
« on: July 09, 2015, 08:33:36 PM »
I've been having a few issues with my phone and broadband connection since a lightning strike near our house last Wednesday. Here's my latest online rant to them  :)

Quote
So I phoned TT again this morning. Got through to Ron??, anyhow, he went through the usual remove the front cover from the master socket, plug the (brand new) phone in etc.
The phone line has a crackle and Ron thinks this is the problem so he's passed my problem to technical support.

He told me they should contact me in the next 24 to 72 hours with an update. Possibly another engineer call, or a new router.
I left the house to go to work. Ten minutes later I got a text telling me everything is working and I should text FIXED or NOT FIXED. Bit difficult to check my broadband from 10 miles away LOL
Got home this tea time and there's no difference at all !!
I've just tried my old original router and the speed is about the same, 0.6m, so it's probably not the router after all but the line that the BT Openreach engineer has already signed off as working at the beginning of the week :-(

Anybody getting bored yet, I am !!

Just had 2 more texts, 1st one telling me that they are testing my line, and the 2nd saying they have completed the test and will get back to me shortly.
So that's repairs to the line done, new master socket, new filter, new router phone cable, tried a second router, new phone, and it's still faulty.

Plus it appears I'm talking to myself on here.
I also have 3 ticket numbers now, anymore and I'll be playing bingo with them LOL :-)

Back tomorrow for another rant probably. Watch this space ;-)

Been there fly had a rant at the chief engineer after a couple of days of getting nowhere and answering the same stupid questions.
Chief engineer put the phone down on me - so another rant to someone else.  >:(

Mind you the rant I had to the chief engineer did the trick as all problems rectified

So annoying especially when you use it for your work! >:(

We've tried to instal broadband at Stanedge golf club. We've been promised 18mb, we know we will be lucky to get 2. Router arrived, when I installed it, phone line went dead!! Phone technical support, " is the router plugged in' yes. "Are you calling from the number the router is installed on" err well given the fact that it kills the phone line no!! Ok we will send an engineer out. Thanks but I need 24 hours notice to make sure someone is there. Yes no problem. Got a call today at 3 o'clock. Hello this is the phone engineer I'm at the golf club and I can't get in.. Well I'm in Manchester so there's eff all I can do about it.

Engineer phoned me Monday lunchtime just gone. No one told me he was even coming.
Thankfully I was only in Shirebrook at the time so he waited for me. I did mention this to TT  ::)
Can't see BT coming out over the weekend, but hey LOL
