Own a car, have a resident's permit - look out!
« on: June 16, 2015, 10:28:56 AM »
There's a new enforcement officer in town who ignores resident's permits and issues tickets to their cars. I caught him red-handed on Friday about to ticket our car despite the permit correctly displayed in the windscreen. He claimed not to have spotted it - twice, once on his first walk past then again when he returned. I've reported him to the council but be aware folks.

Do these people get paid more if they issue more tickets?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Have you had any response yet Dave?
As Pete asks it would be interesting to know if a bonus is paid to the attendant for issuing tickets.

No response - but I didn't really expect one. I just stumbled across this: http://www.indeed.co.uk/viewjob?jk=86c0b513854ef67...

The rate of pay is £10 per hour, part time but have a look right at the bottom, under benefits where it states:

Benefits £
10 Pay per correctly issued ticket
A capped monthly petrol allowance if you use your own vehicle

I know it's for someone to work in Nottingham and Derby and not Chesterfield but it does seem to prove that a bonus is paid.

'If' it is payable by a bonus it's going to attract the wrong people for the job!

My next door neighbour's 4x4 was ticketed yesterday; there was a resident's parking permit in it...

Makes you wonder if some of the parking crew have morals. Shame really, the ones I know are great guys and girls.

Gave did you ever get a reply to your letter?
Best thing is for your neighbour to write a complaint as well.
The more people who complain when they have done nothing wrong the better - they will have to take it seriously then!

I left a phone message that included my number, no one from the council called me back.
