Do local shops want trade?
« on: January 08, 2014, 08:22:17 PM »
............ not if my recent experience is anything to go by!

I recently purchased a sidewinder roller blind from Wilkos for the kitchen window. Unfortunately the winder chain isn't long enough for me to reach comfortably as the window top is high and is behind a worktop - so I thought I would replace it with a longer length.

Over xmas/new year period I went to the only shop in town that I could think would sell this item (Etienne blinds) but it was shut until last Saturday. I decided to order one off eBay, but they cocked the order up and sent the wrong size (gap between the balls is critical  >; ) so, as by this time the shop was open, I gave them a call.

I couldn't have been met by a more apathetic and unhelpful person! I realise that it was only a 2 metre length of cord I wanted and it wouldn't greatly increase his turnover or profit, but, if you are in business you should provide good - if not excellent - customer service to everyone regardless.

I tried giving him the ball diameter and gap between the balls - stop sniggering  :-? - but he didn't want to know. I asked him if he stocked this item and he replied that he thought he had some lying around but couldn't put his hand on it - you're sniggering again! -I was astounded at his attitude and promptly ended the call.

Guess who won't be going there again?

Obviously time online and no answer to the local blind ball length is directly proportionally to shops unhelpful Ebay waste of time.

Have you got your blinds sorted ?
More to the point, did you phone Peak107 today with a 'Where's you bin man' answer ?

1. Yes, I got the blind sorted by connecting a length of the incorrect cord to extend the original one.

2. Guilty as charged m'lud! I am that star of Peak 107   ;)
