Turkey and Syria Earthquake

Very sad news today. It must be a nightmare for those living in these two countries. TV footage is frightening to watch.
Our weather is rubbish at times in the Uk but we don't get earthquake's - yet!

I've seen it said that it's a biblical earthquake
I watched TV Tuesday night I think it was and they freed a baby from rubble - still alive. It made me cry. Horrendous and the death toll keeps rising

Syria desperately needs help like Turkey but the scenes on t.v. of convoys stuck at checkpoints in Syria unable to move because of the Syrian regime, and only one corridor in or out.
If I were in charge of the convoys I would issue an ultimatum to the Syrian government saying if you don't let us through we will go help the Turks who WILL let us through.

I feel so much for the Syrian people and yes it is all footage of Turkey which is so sad I keep thinking I must watch less of it as it's so upsetting

I notice that all the major companies are STILL  advertising holidays to Turkey!!!!!!

I could not in all conscience holiday in one part of a country that has seen such devastation in the other half, and I cannot see why others think it's o.k.

Many years ago we had booked to go to Sorrento in Italy and a couple of weeks before our flight, a few miles up the road from Sorrento, they had bad weather and mud slides leaving devastation and many homeless, so with the above in mind we went and changed our holiday destination. We explained our decision to the girl at Coop travel but she couldn't care less and it cost me another sixty odd quid to book another destination.
