Victoria Centre

It's being refurbished!!

One of the retailers are busy getting organised to relocate in the New Year.
There is an option for retailers to return once it's completed.

At last something is being done!

It is and quite spacious and er 'empty' in places.
I welcome the refurb TBH and would like to see it filled with existing retailers and more. A bit like an indoor Market would be good?
What do you think?

I'm wondering if it will affect the Taxi's which park outside at some point??

I'm hoping the outside will be included in work to be done Fly - if that happens would the Taxi's still be able to operate from there during the work?

The work on the outside will need scaffolding erected. This will spread out onto the road.
Stagecoach won't want to move the 2/2A and 39 bus stops, so the taxis will be moved instead.
They could move us further down the street which will be further away from Packers Row, that's where most of our customers appear from. Or they could remove the disabled parking places from Elder Way and let us have the entire length of it.
I just hope they consult with us that use the rank before doing anything.
Then again they might just remove the rank   .  .  .  .  .  .  .  .

I see congested times ahead!
As Fly says, Elder Way could be Taxi only & bus of course.
The facade of the centre is certainly in need of repair as we all know - as for the interior - I don't know - it's never beckoned me in!
Perhaps the proposed development of the former Co-op has triggered a reaction methinks re the Victoria Centre.

The inside is really needing the refurb and quite empty really.
Obviously the outside does as well!!
I think my freind and I used to go to the dance hall upstairs back in the 60's.
Would there be a re-route possible for buses scimitar?
As for Taxis I reckon they could make the road topside of Market Hall Taxis only - thoughts fly?

Isn't it an option though.
It shouldn't be as messy as it is now.

I don't see a re-route of busses at this point in time. Can't confuse the passengers too much by moving bus stops - trust me, they don't like it ::)

From September we put posters and leaflets in our busses about future changes and we still get folks asking why the bus wasn't there!?!

Yes - the poor sod drives to every Bus stop and updates them. A chore indeed :(
