We have just got back from Benidorm and on the outward journey we suffered a double first.We were just about to lerave EMA when a chap had a panic attack and refused to fly.Despite the Captain trying to persuade him he was adamant he could not do it so  him and his wife got off.Their luggage had to be located in the hold and taken off.The flight attendants had to go through the overhead lockers and each passenger had to confirm which was their property.Quite a delay.
As we were coming into land at Alicante we had to abort the landing because the plane in front of us burst a tyre and debris was scattered on the runway.Up we went and circled for about 30 minutes before we could land
It made a good start to our holiday.

Did you get the torrential rain too, or was that the week before ?
I remember the streets running a foot deep when we were there a few years ago

No we missed it. We overheard someone in the hotel say that nobody could get out of the hotel for three days it was so bad.I sat beside a man on the return journey yesterday and he and his wife were visiting relatives about 4 miles from Benidrm and he said it was terrible.
We had wall to wall sunshine.
