Twelves family
« on: March 05, 2013, 07:50:37 PM »
Does anyone know anything about the Twelves family? They were local chemists with a shop in town and also one on Whit Moor I believe. Anyone? Thanks

I know a Mick Twelves, been a friend since the 1970s, don't know if he is related.

I'll give him a bell and ask him if you like.
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Thanks Pete. That would be great. I'm particularly interested in Reginald Elliott Twelves and when the business seemed to disappear.  :)

Just gave him a call and I'm afraid he's not related.

Apparently he got into the family tree thingy a few years back and he couldn't find any connection, but, if you're interested there were some Twelves folks out in Ashford in the Water that had a connection to Chesterfield. May be nothing in it but just thought you'd want to know.

Good luck!

Surprising there's no connection, not a common name

Thanks guys. I'm begining to think that the chemist side of the family died out in the sixties. Does anyone remember their shops?
