Teachers union passes vote of no confidence in Michael Gove

"Teachers pass vote of no confidence in Michael Gove and Ofsted chief for 'sucking the life out' of education system

Teachers today passed a vote of no confidence in Education Secretary Michael Gove, accusing him of failing to improve the country’s schools.

The Association of Teachers and Lecturers claimed Mr Gove and chief inspector Sir Michael Wilshaw are like Blood Brothers ‘with a pact to suck the life and hope out of our education system’.

Mr Gove is blamed for forcing schools to become academies, paving the way for privatisation after the 2015 general election."

No confidence - where've I heard that expression a lot just recently?

I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

One of the qoutes after the article:

Funnily enough the only people standing up for high standards are the teachers. Gove will lower them with his anti teacher rhetoric and bullying tactics. Less teachers = less choice = poorer teachers. Parents vent anger at teachers who work hard, care, go beyond...and spend hours with revision classes and free extra curricular provision. The problems are simple. Many schools do not receive proper support from home. Hours are spent on unruly students and parents when they should be kicked out. I have even heard that students shouldn't be kicked out as they will cause problems in town. I fail to see why that is the schools problems. Education in the uk is poorly run, but the problems have been caused by government and gove is the worst if the lot

I can't agree more. I wouldn't want to be a teacher regardless of the wage.
My stepson tried it a few years ago. He's now in another line of employment :-)
