Has anyone else heard it is closing due to lack of funding?

mmm ok will ask daughter where she heard it.
She used to have someone there who helped with the legal stuff during her access campaigning days around town - but I know his job went ages ago ---

I wonder if the Borough are cutting back on their grant? Unfortunately the council's minute system search engine is cr@p and you can't do a text search. Slacker might be able to enlighten us?

Here we are - this was a few years ago now though, but she managed big changes around Chesterfield with the help of the Law Centre.
She says it's from a good source - so will have to wait and see -

That's just one example of how the Law centre has given help to Chesterfield people Fly and what daughter did, also helped young mums with pushchairs and the senior citzens, her last achievement was to re-educate Eyres who have now provided a lovely big toilet on the same level as their cafe and also a press button facility to gain access, so well done to them and others in Chesterfield who listened and improved their access. There are of course many more ways the Law Centre has helped people and I do hope it's not going to happen as many will miss it and the service it provides

My sources tell me the law centre, citizens advice, unemployed workers centre, are all selling their premises and being offered space in the town hall, probably rent free instead of a grant.
