Take a cab :-)
« on: December 19, 2012, 06:30:07 PM »
Dear all,
I would like to share a personal experience with my friends about drinking and driving........
As you well know, some of us have had brushes with the authorities on our way home from an occasional social session over the years.
A couple of nights ago, I was out for an evening with friends and had a couple of cocktails and some rather nice red wine.
Knowing full well I may have been slightly over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a taxi home.
Sure enough, I passed a police road block but, since it was a taxi, they waved me past.
I arrived home safely without incident, which was a real surprise as I have never driven a taxi before and am not sure where I got it from or what to do with it now that it's in my garage.
Happy Holidays! Be Responsible!

which reminds me of
Two gentlemen (lets call them Fred and Bill to avoid slurring any ethnic minorities) are walking home after a night on the tiles. They've got no money to get a taxi and are staggering all over the place when they find themselves outside the bus depot.

Fred has a brainwave and says to Bill "Get in there and steal a bus so we can drive home and I'll stay out here and look out for the police".

Bill duly breaks into the garage and is gone for twenty minutes while Fred is wondering what the hell he's doing. Eventually Fred sticks his head around the door and sees Bill running from bus to bus and looking very worried.

"What the hell are you doing Bill, get a move on!" Fred shouts.

To which Bill replies "I can't find a number 7 anywhere Fred".

Fred, holding his hands to his head in disbelief, shouts "You pillock Bill, steal a number 9 and we'll get off at the chippy and walk the rest of the way!".
