£16, Pru Smiths knicker factory in Bolsover. Aged 16. Worked there for six months then moved to Coalite mail room. Wages rose to £21, good money in those days  ;D

Went to Langwith Lodge ponds, just down the road from the Jug And Glass.
Just for a couple of hours. Must admit, we were sat in the shade.
Caught a little Crucian carp about 1/2lb
Then caught this rather nice Mirror Carp. About 7-8 pounds, not a record breaker, but a very nice looking specimen.

Nice one Dave, such a waste  :)

What the hell have the council workers been doing to the flower beds on the roundabout ?
I literally saw council workers ripping healthy plants out of the ground, pansies etc, and discarding them into the back of a pickup.
Why couldn't the council give locals the heads up to re-plant said plants in their own gardens before destroying them ??
I realise someone might have sponsored the round about for bloomage, but what a waste  :(

Fuming is not the word  :-X
Took 3 passengers, all female, in my taxi to a location on Derby Rd. Was a chatty journey etc, they paid, I drove off.
I had been aware that one of the ladies on the back seat was eating something, not usually allowed in taxis, but I let her.
It's only now I've got home I realised what she was eating !!

A packet of biscuits from a carrier bag off my rear parcel shelf. A bag of shopping I'd done for an elderly customer  :o

I'm not contacting the police over a packet of biscuits, I'm not coming looking for you, I won't say where you're living.
You ain't getting in my taxi again thief, you owe me.

I can't believe people can stoop so low. I really have seen it all now  ::)

Customer of mine told me, RE: White Swan.

Party of 12 on recommendation they'd seen in the DT went there.
She opted for the Gammon. It arrived a little over done, IE, knife wouldn't go through it.
The egg had burst it's yolk, but she was served it anyway.
Apparently the chips are nice  :-X
