General Discussion / Re: Its your own stupid fault

Nuff said, I won't bang on about it (although I could), but a revisitation of the Highway Code would not come amiss now and again.
After all, folks like my Dad passed their test 50 plus years ago.
Can you tell me (anyone) last time you read the Highway Code?

Completely agree. Everyone should have a re-test every 5-10 years to ensure they are competent drivers. In almost all professions re-training or refresher courses are mandatory. Why not driving???
Having spent 22 years in highway maintenance doing a job correctly and also a health and safety manager it frustrated me the amount of paperwork and money involved to update training details via refresher courses yet people can legally drive badly/incorrectly for 50+ years and nobody checks their competence. Crazy!!!!

What's your priority Pete?
Cost or performance ?
I've been on BT Infinty for almost a year now. No problems and download speeds around 35 meg. Very reliable and consistent speeds.
Not the cheapest thou £32/month inc line rental.

Hi Stanwaylass, Orchard Row was where the current housing association bungalows are called Orchard View at the bottom of Sherwood Street.
Before the bungalows it was an open grass area where kids played, fought and made up :)
There used to be local fetes and galas held on there too mainly in conjunction with the nearby Working Men's Club (now closed)
Hope this helps.

Chesterfield Discussion / Re: For you to park
« on: December 24, 2012, 04:09:14 PM »
Thanks for the info Pepsiprefect.
I have your address, know there's no car on the drive or access required so I might utilise the parking space.
Hate paying those council money grabbing prices!!!
Think of the money I'll save.
Especially if I park on the road outside your house for free. Nice quiet cul-de-sac and someone at home to watch over my vehicle and I save an extra £520 a year!!!!
Many thanks.
