I live in the Grangewood area, the Trumpeter seldom busy so what makes the council think its replacement going to do any better will just end up a retail unit in the end?

Going to be smaller and a daytime cafe.

The owner of the whole plot has a good retail track record.

As with the old Tesco next to where I work, I remember The Trumpeter being built. Must be 35 years ago

The Tesco near by is the one on Derby Road, still don't think a bar / cafe idea will work.

It helps when you know where Slacky's works and office is. County Council yard next to the old Tesco  ;)
And yes, there are quite a few Tesco's around (y)

Should have clarified, 2 building one close to where I live other close to where I work, both built late 80s now going going gone.
Interestingly, Arnold Clark motors on the old Tesco seem to have demolished everything except the original framework of the building which they seem to be using in construction of a showroom
