To digress a moment, my daughter called into the new Smythes toy store the other day, very nice store too and after she had paid for her purchases it turns out she couldn't find the exit!! she had to ask one of the staff who said something along the lines of " Your not the first...it's not very well signposted is it" and directed her to the exit.

So the upshot is...Don't try shoplifting in this store you'll never get out.

I wonder if it will last the last one has long gone. ( Can't remember it's name) - Was it Toys R Us?

Sinus problem, Asthma kicked off, coughing none stop, wheezing -
Lovely - it's Bank Holiday weekend and I feel rubbish.
It's not Covid, I tested for that yesterday.
I booked to go out for Sunday lunch to the Greyhound - cancelled that!

It was placed in a decent position where it was. Buses and on route to/from train station. It is a shame they've moved it

Also why do shoppers heading for the exit always give a fully laden shopping trolley to granny, the weakest of the bunch, to push to the car.

The trolley holds Granny up  :)) I speak from experience  :))

Alfreton Male Voice Choir

Choir Remembers World War II with Song.
A medley of war songs was brought out of the repertoire during last nights practise ahead of a performance at Tupton in north east Derbyshire on Saturday 8th June.
The Choir ‘Packed Up Its Troubles in Your Old Kit Bag’ and went ‘Over There’ to see the ‘Roses of Pickardy’ then went the ‘Long Way to Tipperary’ ensuring they ‘Kept the Home Fires Burning.’
The Choir will travel the few miles north to Tupton to help their community celebrate the 80th anniversary of D-Day, the start of Operation 'Overlord' when on 6 June 1944, Allied forces launched a combined naval, air and land assault on Nazi-occupied France.
And who knows what manoeuvres the  Sagalouts’ (the Choirs answer to the Home Guard) will get up but rest assured it wil be song and laughter.
Get up to but it’ll be more song and laughter.
So pop along in the afternoon to Tuptons’ Community Garden and join in the fun.

I bought hubby a watch which didn't need a battery or winding up. It goes on light recharging. He's had it years.

I've got one or two old coins from when daughter was little.
Hubby has a collection of really old coins from his mum. I looked on the internet a few years ago but couldn't find any which were worth anything!
Same with my boxed set of Beatles singles. Only been played once as I recorded them and played the recording. Guess what - that particular box isn't worth much at all!
Mind you I might just have another look to see if it's altered! ;)

These days it's generally cheaper to buy new appliances, it's annoying though isn't it when they seem to last as long as we would expect.
Gone are the days when we rented a tele and if they went wrong the shop had their own engineers to come out and fix if possible.
We used Marshalls in Clay Cross for many years and they were pretty good at sending out engineers to fix things. These days it's the same as everywhere - buy a new one!
Improving Technology hasn't helped us in the repair section has it.

Just saw on B.B.C. news this morning a lady horse trainer was being interviewed and he interviewer remarked how "she" had lost a horse yesterday as it had to be put down and her basic cavalier reply was along the lines of:-
"Hey ho these things happen, not too worry I've got more".

I'll never understand why it's even called a sport, and why the need for horse trainers? correct me if I'm wrong but don't horses already know how to run, they don't need to be shown.

Hard hearted or what abd here's me crying  if I like a Hedgehog!
