Not wanting to put you on the spot Slacker but have you any idea what the difference would be  between un-adopted road and one which has had tarmac on?

Got back from Majorca on Thursday but we were a bit concerned when the French Air Traffic Controllers went on strike on the Tuesday.Luckily they called it off on Wed night(we have been caught before with them striking).
The Jet 2 rep said it had been chaos on Wednesday at Palma airport which is always busy without any delays.Apparently all Jet 2 planes  had a minimum of  4 hours delay.
Anyway we landed spot on time at EMA  airport to round off a super holiday.

Pleased you enjoyed your holiday Umpire, Majorca was the first over seas holiday we ever took back in the early 70's love it there.
We just missed one of their strikes in route to Dubai to join a ship, we were the lucky ones as others on later flights had some horror stories to tell the worst being having a choice - either miss the boat ( sorry ) or get on it without their luggage.

Any photo's to share?

Yes a wave and a tootle on the frootle costs nothing and does get a smile................. usually! :))

We went to the Darley Dale Steam engines and when the steam train came in/out the young one was again under my coat.
He enjoys watching them but doesn't like the noise level.  ;D

The only thing I know about that mycul was the first house we bought was on an un-adopted road.
We were told back then that we could all chip in and pay top have it done as the road in front of the houses was ours?
That was in the 70's

Entertainment / Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers
« on: June 29, 2014, 11:01:26 AM »
I remember Frankie and also remember feeling very sad when he died as I enjoyed the music.

Franklin Joseph "Frankie" Lymon (September 30, 1942 – February 27, 1968)[1] was an American rock and roll/rhythm and blues singer and songwriter, best known as the boy soprano lead singer of the New York City-based early rock and roll group, The Teenagers. The group was composed of five boys, all in their early to mid teens. The original lineup of the Teenagers, an integrated group, included three African American members, Frankie Lymon, Jimmy Merchant and Sherman Garnes, and two Puerto Rican members, Herman Santiago and Joe Negroni.

The Teenagers' first single, 1956's "Why Do Fools Fall in Love", was also their biggest hit. After Lymon went solo in mid-1957, both his career and those of the Teenagers fell into decline. At age 25, he was found dead in his grandmother's bathroom from a heroin overdose.[2] His life was shown in the 1998 film, Why Do Fools Fall In Love.

Does anyone else remember him?

Pete I thought yours was £7.00 a year? Sorry I Must have read it wrong.

I have to agree with you Dave, it's a bit of a devil if people can't park in front of their own homes just because it's in a town/college it should be made free for residents and parking fines for others but it costs money for a warden?
Why should a person be penalised for where they live because that's what it is isn't it.
