« on: May 24, 2015, 10:20:29 PM »
Borrowed a book belonging to my dad by Dennis Hobson, a chap who having started work at Hasland Sheds in 1939 must have worked there at some stage at the same time as my Dad. 64 photos mostly local railway so just scanning and cutting as there are 2 per page. Will post on Old chesterfield pics on Faacebook.

Never mind the leaders' debates, hustings for Chesterfield parliamentary candidates are on April 17 at the Assembly Rooms. They were interesting at the last general election.

A young girl walks into a supermarket and on her way round she saw the bloke who had his wicked way with her the previous evening after they had met in a pub. He was stacking washing powder boxes on the shelves.
"You lying toad" she yelled. "Last night you told me you were a stunt pilot."
No" he said. " I told you I was a member of the Ariel display team."

There is no legal obligation to but is there a moral one to the electorate?

2 Tory MPs who defected to UKIP have , a UKIP councillor on CBC was elected as a LbDem has twice changed parties (via Independent).

I believe he should face a vote to determine whether he was elected with personal support or party support.

Chesterfield Discussion / Doors
« on: May 18, 2014, 09:10:05 AM »
Anyone recommend a reliable company to fit me a reasonably priced front door? Existing one is a stupid design where part of the surround includes the window for the downstairs toilet so door needs doing before that is modernised.
