Chesterfield Discussion / Re: Derwent Ward, Walton Hospital
« on: October 23, 2013, 08:42:10 AM »
What exactly is Walton used for these days apart from the rehab, some social services and  orthotics.
Years ago they had an operating theatre there, have they still got one?

Chesterfield Discussion / Change of Speed Limit A61
« on: October 22, 2013, 08:03:04 PM »
Update from DCC

Changes to existing speed limits along a stretch of the A61 have been approved today (22 October).

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

To help control the speed of traffic through Stretton Village and along the A61, we have agreed the following changes:
Reduction of the 50mph speed limit to 40 mph on the A61 Stretton Road, Clay Cross and A61 Main Road, Stretton (south of Clay Cross through Stretton village), to the south side of B6014, Morton Road
Introduce a 40mph limit between the 30mph limit through Clay Cross and the 50mph limit to the north of Clay Cross.

Our Deputy Cabinet Member for Jobs, Economy and Transport, Councillor Dean Collins, said:

"We are always mindful of road safety and the effect speeding traffic can have on people's quality of life.

"By introducing these measures, we hope to maintain a steady and safe flow of traffic on this stretch of a busy road."

Work is due to start later this year.

Am sure someone will come along with some good ideas though without taking the pee  ;D

Chesterfield Discussion / Derbyshire in brief - 22 October 2013
« on: October 22, 2013, 04:09:15 PM »
Seems like Derbyshire is looking at their Utility Bills same as most of us I suppose, especially in light of the recent energy price rises.

Good news though today as Ofgem has told the energy suppliers they can no longer 'changed fixed rates'
About time !!

Is it finally ripening ?

Hubby has to buy one every year to scoop out and light his candle inside.
We always buy a tub of sweets for the children who knock - the pumpkin is our way of telling them they can knock on our door.
Mind you I put one of the posters on daughters door which I have shared a link to.
I printed it and laminated it for her last year, as it's nopt safe for her to be answering her door in the dark - so I think the posters are a good idea.
