BHS could be in the receivership by tomorrow.
« on: April 24, 2016, 02:55:51 PM »
It has been reported that British Home Stores could very likely end up in adminstration tomorrow putting at risk 11,000 jobs though out the country. If BHS closers in Chesterfield it will be another nail for the town centre.

It looks as if they are in administration.
Very sad, to see the retailers which have been around as long as I can remember going.
I used to love to go in the shop on the Moor in Sheffield to look at the brilliant display of lighting they had.
God forbid we get another pound shop on the site

The Sheffield Moor store is quite big inside many years ago their was a sort of discount version of BHS on Waingate . It sold end of the line products didn't last that long . Also seem to remember a cafe in the basement. Its a real shame it's come to this, if the Chesterfield store goes it will be a blow for the Vicar Lane shopping centre as the BHS acts like a anchor store for the complex the unit is large and it wouldn't be easy to let the old Morrison store still is empty which is much smaller . Competeing against Primark is going to be hard I wonder if Marks and Spencer still sell that much clothing given the fact that Primary only next door?

Always the case. 11,000 jobs though the chain lost not Chesterfield but recently in Sheffield a company called ' Polestar' that prints magazines has closed over 3,000 jobs went also the government department for regional development is set to close how on  earth can the government claim unemployment is going down? Back to Chesterfield what will the town centre look like say in two years time Burtons are closing on the 11th June , BHS anytime, Morrison's doomed Vicar Lane store didnt last long plus many empty units dotted around the town?

It's a large shop to fill so may be empty for awhile.
I bet the staff are devastated.
Meanwhile I noticed that generous George place as we go into clay Cross is recruiting
