I didn't know that Dave. I've been told the B&Q at Alfreton/Somercoates is to close but that's the only one I have heard of in Derbyshire.

Personally, i wouldn't care if the chesterfield B&Q branch did close.
I can never find what i want, & when i ask an assistant they will check on the computer, then tell me it's out of stock.
On the occasion when i have made a purchase, i get to the checkout to find no one is on the till, then get badgered in to using the self service till by an assistant, whilst being watched over by members of staff & a security guard !
If they can have several staff members watching, why can't they just operate the bloody till ?

The only time that i go in there now is on a wednesday, because it's over 60's discount day & there is usually someone on the till.      I take my mum with me as well so she can use her card to get me 10% off what i want to buy !

Last I heard the entire staff in there had been issued with a blanket final disciplinary warning for the poor performance of the store.

B&Q; "You can do it, if you B&Q it." As long as you don't need dome-head screws, and a host of other common DIY sundries.

Can you get them from Screwfix?
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Dave, I've been to Screwfix just the once, because I asked for screw size info., gauge etc., I left empty handed. Found the experience a total wasted effort.

bransoj, Yeah, you're right, they do seen to carry stock larger stores haven't heard of, Like B&Q & dome-head screws.

Screwfix is not a shop where you can get advice, it's more like Argos, you choose your items from a catalogue, fill in a form, take it to the counter & pay for it, then wait for your items !
