Apparently suffered a low fuel problem around East Midland Airport, so ditched it's planned route and flew directly back to home(Doncaster). Judging by my reckoning, it saved itself about 6 miles of fuel off of it's 3 and a half hour gawd knows how many miles round trip by doing so.
Sadly pi$$ing off many hundreds of people who were waiting to see it fly past  ::)

I was with a hundred or so very disappointed people this afternoon and there were many, many more along the final leg by all accounts. Unforgiveable to disappoint them all and still manage to team up with a helicopter for a photoshoot, the fans who have supported the project for years and heeded requests to stay away from Doncaster this weekend should come first.

Another one I heard was that it was East Mids Airport that put the spanner in the works somehow, it then threw the timing for the rest of the route.
I think someone messed up somewhere. Shame really, many of those that missed it might have been the people donating and funding it for the past few years  :(

Oh dear sorry to hear of the disappointing day people have.
Hubbies elderly friend was going with his son so he will be disappointed.

As for me I didn't get out as planned today.
When my charge got up this morning she wasn't well, so it ended up being a DVD day here.

Have I read there are a few more flights planned though?

Couldnt agree more.  Problem now is people around the Sheffield area who missed it are likely to travel to Doncaster tomorrow to at least get a glimpse of her.  Me being one of them, and before anyone comments about staying away from Doncaster, my friend was there today and so were the police.  I quote from the police officer 'as long as you dont block emergency access routes and park sensibly, theres nothing we can do.  We will have a cuppa though'

I park well away from the terminal building on a side road thats a dead end and it causes no problems to anyone.
Im a bomb technician.  If you see me running, try and keep up
