Nandos comes to town
« on: September 10, 2014, 05:11:48 PM »
Just saw a piece on the DT website about Nandos coming to the old Blockbuster store on the Alma Leisure Park site.

There seems to be a lot of enthusiasm for this although I'd rather support independent Chesterfield restaurants than another "chain" restaurant.

Still, live and let live... ;)
I started out with nothing and I've still got most of it left.

Not sure why DT is reporting it like a big surprise, it was first mentioned months ago

Just another business Andy, all clawing for media and profit. Bit like the gov parties.

I went to Nandos ages ago in Sheffield and wasnt impressed.

Unless its changed, its looks cheap when you get in until you realise the price is for the chicken only.  If you want chips with it, thats extra, toppings were extra too.  Can works out to be expensive.

As i say, it was a long time ago so might not be like that now

Looks like it's getting the wooden shack effect makeover.

I doubt I'll be paying a visit.  I'd much rather support and encourage local businesses  :)

We had a meal here just before Christmas ,as we were going to cineworld we thought we would try it to see what it was like.
Quite enjoyed it actually, decent portions but not a place I would go to for a special meal.
