Wheelie Bin washers
« on: May 07, 2014, 06:25:18 AM »
See these vans all over the place following the bin wagons around. They wash the dirty water down the gullies which is contrary to Environment Agency rules.

However that wasn't the point of my discussion.

I am assuming it costs at least a quid a time. Just wondering why people use them when a wheelie bin liner is about 20p.

Everything that we put in our wheelie bin is bagged 'at source' - kitchen, bathroom, living room etc. so no need for bin liner or bin washing. If the washing service is contrary to EA rules, why are you allowing it to continue?

My parents used the washer man, mainly because they had a solid fuel fire/central heating and once cooled the ashes were put into the bin - made a proper mess inside.
