Nice paint job. Anyone remember Chesterfield Transport Green & Cream livery? Photos courtesy of my very good friend Colin Sellers.

Saw it driven through town this afternoon.
Nice paint job on an 05 plate bus. YN05 XNZ
Think the digital frontage sineage spoils it though.

Just seen the Dart in Hasland this morning - looks nice.

My family worked for East Midland Motor Services, and we had friends who worked for the 'other side' (Chesterfield Corporation)!!

Going to have a wonder down to see them with the kids, would of been nice to see the spire sprinter aswell to contrast the liveries. They were so fun to drive and had amazing suspension that used to bounce for about an hour after hitting  a pothole. Used to love glancing in the rear view mirror at the passengers on the back seat!

Reminds me of what my Dad used to say when he was double crewed with a new conductor/conductress.............."It's your job to get them on the bus and it's my job to sit them down!"  >;

I remember the J reg Mercs we had. Some of the clutch pedals were very hard work! Then they got converted to auto boxes & were a lot better.
You are right about the suspension - you'd hear the squeals from the back sometimes over a speed hump - not to mention the girls bouncing about....... :D
I said NOT to mention.......... ah the mammaries..erm I mean memories :-[

Going back to my original post, the procession of buses leaves the Town Hall at 7pm.

Shame mate  :(
Bet the drivers feel a bit proud doing the run.
Or have they been selected from time served drivers, or ex drivers cum management ?

A few pics from tonight, I raced and got a few in town, Hasland toll bar and north wingfield church. It has been nice to see them all on the road together.

Scimitar, I asked Colin about the preserved spire sprinter and apparently it's laid up likely to never work again. Shame really as there were a lot of minibuses not too long ago.
