Looks like we've got the builders in ??
« on: April 07, 2014, 05:43:17 PM »
Got home from work today and here's what we find. Not a word from the council.
I did however report the chimney stack to the council. About 3 years !!

Shouldn't take them long Fly but I have noticed that there are a lot of new roofs going on around the Chesterfield and district area.

It gets better. Next door neighbour(left of genal), has just come home.
Was stood on the street looking skyward and bemused.
Apparently they'd contacted the council when we had the high winds earlier this year.
A part(slate), of the stack came down and landed on the back yard. So they contacted the council.
Sounds like the council are doing something now it's actually breaking up, but ignored me when I told them it looked dodgy.

Useless council workers, just found out this morning, the phone's packed in.
Broadband still works though. Bought a new phone, still nothing.
Had a gander up at the phoneline and can see it's been pulled to one side of a scaffold pole.
Even though we're with TalkTalk, I've phoned BT and reported a damaged line outside of our property  ;)
It's not the scaffolding firm's fault, all was well till the council came to do the repairs whilst we were away.
BT can charge the council for the repair to the line, I ain't paying owt  :!

Good luck with that Barry, I had a fault with our phone which miraculously cured itself 1/2hour before engineer came. They still charged me!  :(

Photographic evidence of the moved out of the way phone line.

The scaffoldings half down now. Most of it is laid on next doors lawn  :o ::)
You can just make out the phone line in this shot.

Was only then that I saw the smashed paving stones. Upside down triangle on bottom of full slab and crack off to the right.

Crack top to bottom and crack running right/down from top.

Even visible from inside the house. Just to prove the photo's were took with the scaffolding in situ  :)
Slab with dandelion visible is the one with the triangle on but photo taken from other side.

So I got my latest bill from TalkTalk Monday. It included a £50 engineer fee  :o
Half an hour on the talktalk online chat and was told all was sorted.
Checked my account last night, still says I owe them the extra £50.
Just been back in touch, was given a number to call and finally got it sorted, I think.
I'm not paying £50 for something that wasn't my doing :(

Talking about talktalk after having the same password and e-mail address it is now saying that one of them is incorrect. After three half hour calls going through the same crib sheet they say nothing can be done and I will have to create a new e-mail address.
It goes a lot deeper than that but it would take me ages to detail the full story.I have sent a formal complaint to their Head Office in Southampton and I am awaiting their reply with baited breath.
