Right, got the heart monitor fitted.
The idea is, if I have an 'episode', I just press a button on it and it records an ECG of my heart there and then.
If it wasn't fitted and switched on at the time, the moment might be missed.
Because the 'episodes' could be days or weeks apart, they've given me enough electrode pads and batteries to last a month.
They just want to see what my heart is doing at the time. Pity it wasn't fitted yesterday, I had a slight one yesterday evening and a rather bad one at work today. Thing is, I picked up a customer during it and by the time I'd drove off the rank, I felt fine and have done since. Including going to the hospital late afternoon.
Once I've took a few recordings, I can phone the hospital on a special number and download the data via our home phone to their computer system. They can analyse this data and contact me accordingly, whether to take more readings or make me another appointment depending on their findings.
